Youngsters can enjoy a spooktacular day out at The Customs House this half-term holiday. Wendy the Witch and the Haunted Mansion is on at the Mill Dam venue in South Shields from Wednesday to Friday.

The team behind Santa’s Naughty Elf have produced this new show just for Halloween. Wendy the Witch needs the help of the boys and girls to save her ghostly pals.

Director and writer Wayne Miller, who’s known to thousands of youngsters as Elfluent the Elf, said: “Halloween is great time for kids of all ages, a time of dressing up, spooky stories of things that go bump in the night. I wanted Wendy the Witch to include all of those wonderful things about this time of year. It’s been a great experience creating something that is a spooky little tale but also so very fun and interactive for children.”

This summer Wayne presented Silly Simon the Sailor at Harton Quays Amphitheatre in South Shields next to The Customs House. The cast included Sarah Boulter who will be playing Wendy.  The 26-year-old from Sunderland said: “After being in Silly Simon I was so pleased to be asked to be in another great production at The Customs House. I really do love getting to perform in these fun shows! As an actor its instant reactions from the audience that make it so enjoyable, hearing them sing along, see them smiling and dancing, you just can't beat it. Wayne does a great job creating something that kids and adults can enjoy, he gives something for everyone. He writes songs that are so fun to sing and teach, so rehearsals really are a great day’s work for me. I can't wait for people to meet Wendy this week."

Wayne, 35, from South Shields, added: “Working with Sarah again has been great. I've known her a long time and had a brilliant time working with her on Silly Simon the Sailor. She will bring a great level of energy and fun to the role of Wendy that I can't wait for people to enjoy."

Children are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween outfit for a chance to win a great prize.
