Get ready for a night of hilarious comedy and celebrity insights as stand-up comedian David Baddiel comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal on Monday 1 December.
Fame: Not The Musical is Baddiel’s critically acclaimed show, looking at why we’re obsessed with Fame as a society and some real-life insights into what it’s really like to be famous!
Using his own experiences, David Baddiel takes aim at himself, looking at anything from accidentally stealing the spotlight at Russell Brand’s wedding, to realising Andrew Lloyd Webber cannot tell him apart from Ben Elton; examining his strange relationship with the New Lad / Token Jew / Comedy rock’n’roller / football singer-songwriter that people see him as.
Celebrities have been raving about Baddiels’ show; Jack Dee tweeted: “Thoroughly recommend this: Funny, honest and touching. In that order” while Ricky Gervais posted: “Try to see David Baddiel’s “Fame” if it comes to your town. One of the best stand-up shows I’ve seen in years.”
Following a string of sold-out performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, London’s Southbank Centre, and Menier Chocolate Factory, David Baddiel comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal for one night only on 1 December, 7.30pm.
