Massive Geordie Film Kickstarter Success
Stagg Do DVD Launch Party
Tyneside Irish Centre
Friday 6th November 2015
Geordie film, The Stagg Do, celebrates its DVD Release with Launch Party at Tyneside Irish Centre
Fans helped The Stagg Do on its way to be a future cult classic by supporting a crowdfunding campaign to get the film BBFC classification and onto DVD for distribution.
After smashing a Kickstarter target of £4000 only 2 days into a 30 day campaign, The Stagg Do went on to raise over £7000. This means the Gateshead-based filmmakers FNA Films, headed up by Zahra Zomorrodian and partner James DeMarco, can plan a screenings tour of the country.
The film, nicknamed "The Geordie Hangover", stars Craig Conway (Dog Soldiers, The Descent) and Bill Fellows (Downton Abbey, United) as well as stand up comedians
Lee Ridley (Lost Voice Guy) |
A camping and fishing trip is not what Pob has in mind when he books legendary gentlemen's club The Cock's Inn for his best mate, Staggy's stag do. The group ends up lost in the wilds of Northumberland, dodging aggressive wildlife and a man they believe to be the "Mad Butcher of Cockenwaithe". It seems doubtful the lads will make it to the Cock's Inn, never mind Staggy's Wedding.
To start things off, the film will be screened at a special Stagg Do DVD Launch Party at the Tyneside Irish Centre, with musical entertainment from local band Marriott Lane, one of the unsigned acts who have songs on the film soundtrack. The November 6th Launch Party is open to the general public and tickets are available from the film website:
