Season’s
Greetings by Alan Ayckbourn
Newcastle
People’s Theatre
Tuesday
14 – Saturday
18 November 2017
Playwright Alan Ayckbourn once noted that “Christmas is a gift to the dramatist – what better opportunity is
there to stick together a group of people who can’t stand each other?”
Regarded as one of his best works, Season’s Greetings is a hilarious
festive family reunion of yuletide disasters that wrings every ounce of bitter
humour from that time of year when we’re all expected to be compulsorily merry.
Prepare yourself for the season of goodwill with this uproarious,
explosive mixture of mistletoe and wine, rows and tears, frustrated wives and
eccentric uncles!
Also showing the
exhibition ‘Chiaroscuro’ by Simon J Hall, presented in association with the
Biscuit Factory. This latest exhibition of paintings have been inspired by the
landscape and buildings of the region and elsewhere and an interest in history
and the environment.
