Born of the BAFTA award-winning Television Workshop,
Nottingham-based theatre company Sheep Soup are taking their latest production,
The Leftovers, on a UK tour.
Specialising in creating musicals in which music
happens naturally, and following the success of their first original production,
Mrs Green: The Musical (***** Metro, ***** Edinburgh Fringe Review), Sheep Soup
are proud to be taking their latest musical on their first UK tour, following
the success of their sold-out run at Leicester Curve Theatre.
Commissioned by Leicester Curve Theatre, and
supported by Arts Council England, The Leftovers is set in a community
recording studio. Jodie’s grieving friends are making a big song and dance
about her death. They form a makeshift band to celebrate her life in musical
form, but can’t agree on what kind of tribute Jodie would have wanted… or even
who she really was. They dive into her surviving collection of diary entries,
poems and secrets to make some sense of things, and to have some fun amongst
the darkness of loss.
Join the inimitable Sheep Soup and enter the
hilarious and heartwarming world of The Leftovers, where genre boundaries are
smashed, friendships are built and destroyed, and everyone tries to avoid
writing Candle In The Wind…
