Breaking
Tradition, the UK’s leading folk and hip hop dance company come together with
award-winning folk powerhouse ‘The Demon Barbers’ to invite families, gamers
and live music & dance lovers of all ages on an unforgettable adventure at
Sage Gateshead on Sunday 9 September.

Barber, Artistic Director of Breaking Tradition and front man of The Demon
Barbers says: “We’re really excited to have produced a new dance show
specifically aimed at a younger generation which incorporates traditional folk
customs into the digital world. And we’re
looking forward bring Quest to Sage Gateshead having received such a fantastic
reaction to the premiere from audiences in our new home at Kala Sangam,
Bradford.”
Angus
Milne, Quest musician and performer was born on Teeside and is thrilled to be
performing back on home turf, where his musical upbringing in folk, jazz and
classical music began. Now based in Leeds after studying at Leeds College of
Music, where he was awarded the Alan Hawkshaw foundation scholarship and upon
graduating, and the Yamaha foundation scholarship, he is a multi-instrumentalist
best known for being a highly versatile Double Bassist. Angus is very much in demand as a session
musician around the north of England and performs across the UK and Europe.
Written
by award-winning writer and actor Stacey Sampson, Quest fuses Morris, clog and
sword dance with popping, locking, breaking and martial arts to the beat of new
songs and traditional melodies with an electronic edge bring to life the story
of Kai’s search for his missing sister which draws him in the extraordinary
computer game…Forever Quest.
