Darlington Hippodrome is looking to recruit a new Apprentice Marketing and Box Office Assistant.

Behind the glitz, glamour, jazz hands, make-up and costumes of any theatre there is a dedicated team of people working tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the venue.

Many people are eager to experience the excitement and allure of working in theatre, but often this only goes as far as imagining themselves as actors, on stage in front of an audience every night. In reality, there are more jobs off the stage than on it and they can be every bit as rewarding as acting – and certainly more secure! Administration, finance, technical, marketing, front of house and box office are all skills required to staff every theatre regardless of size, offering opportunities to a vast range of individuals with different backgrounds, experiences and qualifications.
