Car Park King, an original comedy play about one of the most controversial Kings of England - Richard III, comes to Arts Centre Washington on Thursday 17 October.
Join us on our hilarious and bizarre journey back in time on this unmissable evening of comedy. Awoken from his carb park tomb follow King Richard III as he accidentally becomes cursed and tries to stop a prophecy and protect his two nephews from danger. Sound simple enough? Think again. From witches, human birds, flamboyant French kings, pragmatic watchmen, murderers, salesmen, lizards, messengers and magical mushrooms.
Richard’s journey won’t be easy...but it will be entertaining!
With only 3 Actors and over 20 characters this fast paced farce will be sure to have you laughing from the moment the lights dim.
Playwright Jessica McDonagh
comments, I adore this period of history and grew up mesmerised by a wide range
of comedies which I believe explains the plays offbeat humour. This play was
written with the simple aim to make people laugh. My hope with ‘Car Park King’
is for the audience to have a great time and leave the show curious about the history
but also with an amazingly toned jawline after all the laughter! (We cannot
promise this as a result of Car Park King, but wouldn’t it be great if it was!)
We all deserve a night off from the stresses of daily life to just sit back,
relax and have fun.
Peter Stone - Producer of Car Park King comments, I’m thrilled to be taking this show on a larger UK tour, after we gave it a first showing in 2017 to a few venues the audience response was phenomenal with some great sell out performances.
The cast and crew all love the show and it’s rare to stumble across something that has the main aim of making sure the audience have a great night out and achieving exactly that!
