Sh*t-faced
Shakespeare return to Tyne Theatre and Opera House with a boozy Scottish play
Sh*t-faced Shakespeare: Macbeth
Newcastle Tyne Theatre & Opera House

Following their successful touring productions of A
Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Romeo and Juliet, both of which visited
Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre and Opera House in November 2019, and November 2021
respectively, Sh*t-faced Shakespeare are making a return on Saturday 12th
November 2022 with one of the Bard’s most well-loved plays; Macbeth.
Sh*t-faced Shakespeare is a smash-hit, internationally
acclaimed, multi sell-out fringe phenomenon; hilariously combining an entirely
serious adaptation of a Shakespearean classic, with an entirely sh*t-faced cast
member. One cast member is selected at random and given four hours to drink
before every show… what could possibly go wrong?
With a gin in one hand, a cup of wine in the other and a
flagon of ale in the other, this is not your typical Newcastle night out.
Sh*t-faced Shakespeare seeks to introduce a new generation
of theatre-goers to the works of the Bard by reviving the raucous, interactive
and vibrant nature of Elizabethan theatre with a very modern twist – reminding them
as we go to always enjoy Shakespeare responsibly.
Tickets are priced: £24, £21
